STRANGE DIMENSIONS -- UNUSUAL EXPERIENCES

Unusual experiences surface in the strange dimension created by our current President – one where we’re expected to believe all his utterances just because he says so – despite the fact that so many of his pronouncements have been proven to be blatantly false.

I continue to reasonably expect our President’s and his administrative team’s transparency to rule out financial conflicts of interest compromising their ethical and moral loyalty to our constitutional democratic republic form of government.

So many mysterious meetings between and among our current government’s administration with Russian officials -- some trained to spy -- lawyers, bankers that these leaders somehow forget to mention until reminded later by documents revealed by others.   We are left to make our own inferences based on the gradually emerging facts.

I have great difficulty extending trust for the unknown to those who have hidden their actions, lied by omission, even given statements contradicting themselves and others -- who continue to be less than honest and straight forward to cite just a few betrayals of the American people's confidence in whose interest they are governing.   We are entitled to full disclosure.

MORE UNUSUAL EXPERIENCES…..

Three times in the past decade I had some unusual experiences I’d never had before.  The first one occurred a few years after my husband’s death.   I did have some second thoughts as I pondered a couple of the incidents, but concluded there must be some other explanation than their being a connection to him.

Something caused me to awaken in the wee hours one morning.  The slightly opened master bathroom door was just as I always leave it, allowing the night light to filter into my bedroom.  I was startled to see a man’s shadowed figure standing bedside at my feet.   I could not clearly distinguish the facial features in the few seconds before the figure vanished as I began to rise up in bed.   I soon went back to sleep and forgot about the experience in the days to come.

A few years later, I was again awakened in early morning hours to clearly see the brightly lit face of a young woman with long blond hair studying me intently.   Her head was bedside mine, slightly higher, tilted to one side as she looked downward straight into my eyes for only a few seconds and then she was gone.  Again, the figure seemed very real, but I did not recognize her.   I eventually ceased thinking about that face.

The last instance occurred only a few years ago when I again awoke in morning hours to briefly see the shape of a man standing-height with unclear facial features at the head of the opposite darkened side of my bed.    That person too, seemed real before he disappeared.

Those experiences have seemed strange to me, having never had such before.   Recently when they happened to come to mind I wondered if others ever saw such figures.  I did make a cursory exploratory internet search to discover various explanations.   I found these intriguing.

One is from well-known scientist Stephen Hawking discussing the possibility of Shadow People:

"We would feel them because gravity would spread through the extra dimensions from shadow branes that we cannot see. There could be shadow galaxies, shadow stars and even shadow people."

Another explanation comes from some Psychics who suggest these “shadow people” are often family who care about us and want to check on our welfare.   Based on that view, the first male figure could have been my father of whom I have no conscious memory of his face other than pictures I’ve seen.

The female face must have gotten a wrong address ‘cause she didn’t look like anyone I ever knew.   The last male figure could have been that father figure or my husband, though I couldn’t discern the face.

I was not in a dream or hallucinatory state, had not taken any medications or other drugs -- these experiences were not figments of my imagination -- but our sensory perceptions can present us with sights we do not always understand.

Have you ever had such experiences and what are your thoughts, whether or not you have?

  1. No, I have never had such experiences. I however know of several people who have and all of them wonder about them just as you now do.

  2. I write about them but more from the things good friends have told me-- many stories over the years. Some believe they are living people soul walking, others ghosts or spirit beings. Those experiences are why I call life mystery and settle for not trying to figure it out-- after many years where I very much did try through various studies and being active in religion. Now I like it being mystery

    1. Native American Indians likely have explanations for them, but I didn't research that point of view.

  3. I was about to dismiss the whole idea of shadow people until I listened to the Hawkins video. I even went online to try and prove the Hawkins video was faked. But he did say those things, and does believe it is possible so it opens up my mind to the possibility. I also found this: "Some theories state that the appearance of a Shadow Person can be created by negative energies surrounding the person seeing them." I've never seen shadow people, thankfully, but I did have an experience in the months after my husband died where I thought he was sending me messages by moving my wedding ring around. I once found it on my computer keyboard and once found it on top of my check book. I kept it hanging on a pin inside my computer wardrobe.

The new communications for the president is selling his soul to the devil. I hope two things comes from all of this, that they make a law that a person running for president must show their income tax forms. We do have a right to know if they have a conflict of interest. And that a president can't get around the nepotism laws by making family unpaid volunteers in the administration.

    1. I would think if there are negative energies that seeing them would be a scary or frightening experience, but I didn't feel that way at all -- nothing threatening about them. Interesting about your wedding ring being in different locations which, I assume, you could not account for how that occurred.

My concern is that in the process of seeking power and $$$, our way of government and individual freedoms are being sold out. The whole nepotism situation should be addressed. Also, specific emphasis is reiterated to every government employee, but especially this President, that their first allegiance is to our Constitution and the American people -- not the absolute loyalty above all else to a President this current one's words and actions seem to demand despite his palaver to the contrary.

    2. I tried to recreate a situation where I would slam the door on the computer wardrobe and have the ring bounce off the pin but I couldn't make it fall off then and it hasn't happened since with the ring still hanging there. It happened three times and I now accept it as a sign. The first time I found it on my keyboard I had just finished planning his funeral service and I took it as approval.

    3. Ah, the three times sign significance I recall writing about here years ago.

  4. I've never seen any figure, but twice in my life I've heard someone call my name: clearly, loudly, and obviously audible only to me. The first time I was in high school, walking through our local mall on my way to work at a music store. When I heard someone call, "Linda!" it was so obvious I stopped and turned around, to see who was calling me. I decided it must have been someone calling a different Linda, but after continuing on, I heard it again. When I turned around, there was no one there.

The second time was when I was traveling overland in Africa. I was in Freetown, Sierra Leone, when I heard my name called on the street, in an obviously non-African accent. Again, I turned around, and saw no one I recognized or who was even looking at me.

If it ever happens again, I think I'll not turn around, but just say, "Yo! What you want?" If I get a response, I'll be sure to write about it.

  5. I passed by dog in the backyard while walking to the front yard. I spoke to her, and we both went on our way. When I got to the front yard, she was sound asleep in the sun. Not only could she not have reached the front yard through the closed gate, she would not have had time to go to sleep. I appreciate Hawking’s explanation.

  6. I have to say I think most if not all psychics are frauds with numerous tricks to make you believe they enjoy extra-sensory perception. I've never seen any such shadow figures but I know people who have. I imagine they're some kind of mental image that seems real, like the figures we see in dreams.

    1. FWIW these events weren't anything like what I've experienced in dreams and I wasn't having any dreams I knew of from which I awakened. I don't even know if these qualify to be considered shadow people by people who make such a determination, that just seemed to be the closest I could come to what I experienced. I don't mean to imply I accept what Psychics say either, or even what Hawkins says, as these were just two of the sources I found in a quick search. Other professionals who consider these sort of things have their own assessments, but I didn't try to include them all. I'm just trying to keep an open mind about what they might be and welcome readers, like you, sharing your perspective.

    1. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you can have a similar experience if you want one. Have no idea why I have, or if I ever will again as I don't consciously think about doing so. It was initially startling to awaken to the sense that a presence was present and I was being stared at -- all within a matter of seconds and then it was gone.

  8. I certainly found it interesting. After she died and I wanted so desperately to have her back, I wondered why she wouldn’t/couldn’t return then the way she had when she was alive because if such a division of reality is possible during life, then perhaps it is possible after life. This talk of shadow people brings to mind the fad of the early 1900s in which people tried to contact the dead. I guess you know about Doyle’s beliefs in ghosts (and his friend, Houdini’s passion for disproving the existence of ghosts), but I didn’t know (until I started reading books on Doyle’s life) that he also believed in fairies. This latter belief shattered any credibility his belief in ghosts might have had in my eyes. You can go to Youtube and pull up an interview of him that occurred after his acceptance of ghosts and fairies. He seems like a genuinely fine man, and he was aware of how badly his belief hurt his reputation. He even got death threats, which presumably came from disillusioned fans.

I went ahead and found that interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWjgt9PzYEM

    1. I am aware of various psychic claims reported in news items throughout the years, but I've never researched any of them --
recall only a few stories about Houdini, slightly aware of Doyle, and haven't given much thought to the possible existence of ghosts. Years ago following my husband's death, an acquaintance I made in a writing group encouraged me to participate in a local group meeting in a reputable book, gift store where they also had some sort of machine, along with the leader of this group and meditation could possibly contact deceased loved ones. This forty year old woman thought she might have contacted her father. I didn't visit the store or group and have not been interested in pursuing that sort of activity.

  9. I try to maintain an Open Mind. The universe is such a huge place with astonishing discoveries almost every day. I think it's disingenuous and provincial to think that our life is the only life; our world is the only world. Having said that, I can't really recall any such strong experience as you have had.

Spiritualism was a huge movement in America during the 19th century, partially brought on by the devastating loss of life during the Civil War. First Lady Mary Lincoln was a poignant devotee, hoping to contact the spirit of her young son who had died of typhoid. Sadly, she was vicitimized by more than one charlatan, their numbers being plentiful at the time.

That's the important point, I think. Just like with anything, there will be unscrupulous people looking to take advantage, whether it be in home repair, insurance, or spiritual matters. Trust your instincts and be wary.

    1. Very good point, there always seem to be unscrupulous people exploiting others. Interesting information about Lincoln's wife.

  10. Hey Jo! Long time since we've visited.
As to your experience - I can totally relate. I've had a couple of "shadow people" experiences, but couldn't convince myself that I wasn't imaging it. Felt very very real.

I've had probably a handful of "psychic" experiences in my lifetime. It is certainly NOTHING I can control, or conjure up at will and why I view any "psychic" who says they can with skepticism. Perhaps if my ability was stronger I could control it, but hasn't been my experience.

    1. Hi Pattie! Glad to have you visit again and anytime, as has been a spell. Interesting to learn you've had some similar experiences -- whatever we're having -- but they surely do, for those moments, appear to be and feel very real. There certainly was nothing I could control or will to occur.

I just visited your current blog, Cowtown Pattie's Texas Trifles, and enjoyed your stories. You have such a delightful way with words -- colorfully descriptive, humorous, informative, sometimes adding your special photos -- just darn right entertaining! Hope the spirit moves you to continue periodically posting. I've written rather erratically these past years and will likely continue to do so as "time goes by"!
