"This year, the pink moon coincides with the Easter weekend and the start of Passover, the most sacred times in the Christian and Jewish calendar."

This full moon is named after the moss pink flower whose blooms indicate the coming of spring.

Enjoy some spectacular photos of the weekends 'pink moon' over New York City's skyline at this U.K.'s Daily Mail link.

"Thanks for these lovely images from my former home in NYC. Saw full moon on Wednesday night in Santa Rosa, CA, then returned to enjoy a waning one in Portland, Or., our newish home. Love full moons!"

  3. Nice to learn this. I had never heard about the pink moon. The moon woke me up early this morning shining on the black waters.
