HAPPY NEW YEAR -- 2018
Balmy weather here in Southern California, but so many of my early memories of this holiday season were in snowy climes. These two were favored vocalists ... Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme.
Happy New year! I know who Steve and Eydie were but they were never favorites of mine. I'm afraid to play their "Let it Snow" video for fear someone up above will take the request seriously and we have enough already! LOL
They really made some beautiful music together--on and off the stage. I was sorry to hear she had passed. Thanks for the memory trip. "Baby it's cold outside" was a favorite. Happy New Year.
Steve and Eydie weren't my favorites, but they certainly were a part of my growing up. Lots of memories.
I hope your New Year's day has been happy, and that your new year is a good one. Your weather sounds pretty good right now. We have a hard freeze warning here on the Texas coast, and it's going to stay in the 20s at night for a couple more days. If it's going to be this cold, I wish we would have snow!
We were in the negative numbers, this morning. In my view, if we're going to have the cold, the least the weather could do is to bring me some snow - for snow ice cream. Cop Car
You brought back so many memories of my days in New York and Massachusetts. Believe it or not my area of North Carolina is covered in 6 inches of snow as I write this ... very unusual for our area. Wishing you all the best for 2018 ! Let's pray it will be better than the past year.
Hauoli Makahiki Hou, Joared. I love Steve and Eydie, not just for their talent but the fact that they seemed to have such a happy marriage in a busy career.
Has been a longer vacation from writing here than I realized. Occasionally I’ve visted TGB, left a few comments which has seemed to fill my writing needs. Am perking along here. Thanks for your interest and concern. Will be getting back in the groove before long.
I accidentally hit the wrong key and prematurely released an unedited draft planned for later publication -- sorry! I'll get my act together one of these days.
I send you best wishes for a very happy new year.

Happy New Year Joared! Lots of snow in Barrie - I love it, most of the time anyway.

ReplyDeleteGlad to know you're getting such good weather in California, unlike the horrific big freeze in the North East.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful 2018.
Backatcha dear Joared. And Baby it's cold outside needs a relisten.

ReplyDeleteNot quite my musical taste. I'm more an Amy Winehouse/Annie Lennox fan.
ReplyDeleteJust stopping by to wave and say "hi." I'm a little concerned that you haven't popped up for a while. I hope all's well!
ReplyDeleteHi! I’m fine — just have been caught up in life, then lax with blogging. Thanks for checking — didn’t mean to concern anyone.
Deleteglad you are ok!

ReplyDeleteThanks— intended to get back here sooner, but circumstances have delayed me.
DeleteYou finally put up a new post, and then took it down! Aaargh!
