Auld Lang Syne by BBC's Symphony Orchestra

LYRICS

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind ?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and auld lang syne ?

CHORUS: For auld lang syne, my dear, for auld lang syne, we'll tak a cup o' kindness yet, for auld lang syne.

And surely ye'll be your pint-stoup !
And surely I'll be mine !
And we'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
for auld lang syne. CHORUS

We twa hae run about the braes,
and pou'd the gowans fine ;
But we've wander'd mony a weary fit,
sin' auld lang syne. CHORUS

We twa hae paidl'd in the burn,
frae morning sun till dine ;
But seas between us braid hae roar'd
sin' auld lang syne. CHORUS

And there's a hand, my trusty fiere !
And gives a hand o' thine !
And we'll tak a right guid-willie-waught,
for auld lang syne. CHORUS

  3. Thanks for posting the BBC Symphony orchestra. I think they may even know what the lyrics mean. I need an interpreter.

    Happy and peaceful New Year, Jo Ann.

  4. The lyrics - how beautiful. I had no idea. With Hub's Scottish background I can make reasonable sense of it and this is the first time I was aware of the sweet beauty of the 'mysterious' anthem. Thank you, Joared.

    I am okay, nothing unusual happening in my life, medically or otherwise. End of '09 seemed a good time to retire from blogging, and so I have. Will leave the blog up for an indeterminate time.

  11. Appreciate your continued interest, Joy. Am still working part time as before. Have to get busy on income tax very soon. Neighbor and I having bids to repair cracking shared block wall that has been attacked by bush and tree roots -- workers will likely work from my yard. Continue to enjoy periodic Sun. aft. appearance of my favorite musical group, ZZAJ. Currently only "listening" member of my writing class as some ready letters to publishers to accompany books they've completed in our class these years. Looking forward to attending another Pacific Symphony Orchestra concert tribute to Gershwins "All That Jazz." Following up on annual physical exam results. Keeping up my exercises and wt loss activities I never got around to describing here.
